Albert James Caropreso enlisted at the age of 17. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1946. He was deployed to Okinawa, Japan during World War II on the USS Noble. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1946, he served in the Naval Reserve until 1956. Al was very active in the Lindenhurst community. He attended mass at OLPH and volunteered his time at many church functions. He was a very active member of the Knights of Columbus where he was given the Man of The Year Award for volunteering and participating in their activities. He was also a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Al was very proud and supportive of his family. He was a true patriot, loved his country, flew his American flag proudly, and would always say if given the chance he would enlist again.
